You might be surprised how often you are supposed to clean your appliances. Use these handy printable cleaning reminder labels to keep track of these important cleaning tasks.
Do you ever read your appliance manuals?
Specifically the part about how often to clean them?
I mean, who knew you had to wash your washer, right? Isn’t it supposed to do the washing, not be the washed?
I admit that a few of my appliances made the “I didn’t know that needed to be cleaned” list. (Anyone wipe down the inside of their dryer on a regular basis?)
Other appliances I have every intention of cleaning regularly, but I forget how often it gets cleaned. It feels like I just cleaned it! How could it already be 6 months?!!!
I have a feeling I am not the only one.
So, I made these printable cleaning reminder labels to help you (and me) with the crucial task of remembering when to clean our appliances. These labels are available in my free resource library. List of Appliances That Need Cleaning
Now, this is NOT an exhaustive list of appliances that need cleaning. However, these are a few of mine that I looked up out of curiosity.
- Dishwasher – wipe down periodically
- Dryer – Clean inside every 6 months, clean vent every 1-2 years
- Washing machine – periodically
- Microwave – wipe down as needed
- Coffee Maker – Every 2 weeks!!!!
Ha! I’m lucky to clean my coffee maker every 2 months, let alone 2 weeks, and we use it every day!
And I usually wait to clean my dishwasher and washing machine until they start to smell a little funny. Anyone else with me on this?!!
That’s why I created these cleaning reminder labels.
You will need to determine how often your appliances need cleaning (I don’t really know what periodically means) based on how heavily it gets used, but it seems like a good rule of thumb for a lot of the appliances is 3-6 months.
Printable Cleaning Reminder Labels
Each sheet has two different types of labels. The top labels can be stuck to your appliances so that you can write when each appliances needs to be cleaned again. (Kind of like the change oil reminder stickers you get when your car gets serviced.)
The second type of label is for your planner or calendar in case you would rather stick the reminder on your paper schedule. Just fill out which appliance needs cleaning and stick it on the date. You could also use these labels to remind yourself to clean other things too.
There are two ways you can use these labels. Either print them on printable sticker paper, or print them on paper and cover them with contact paper to turn them into reusable labels that can easily be moved or reapplied.
I am a sucker for making things with contact paper like these removable blackboard labels or these snowflake window decals. Covering your labels with contact paper allows you to easily move it or remove it when you no longer want it there. You can also write on it with dry erase markers, wash the ink off, and write something new. This comes in really handy when you need to write a new date on your cleaning reminder label.
