One thing I love about decorating is mixing old decorations into new ideas.
Every time I decorate I try to reuse my old decorations from last year in a new way to make them fresh and fun.
Of course, I often make or purchase one or two new things, but I love the challenge of making my decorations look new by changing them around, creating a new theme around what I already own.
This year I wanted to mix the cozy rustic looking fall items I own with some sparkle and glam.
I firmly believe that you don’t have to stick to one style exclusively. A lot of designs have similar elements that you can use to tie multiple styles together.
Fall Mantel Decor: Mixing Rustic and Glam
This is what my mantel and hearth look like this year.
Most of my rustic items I found thrifting, or they were left in the house when we purchased it.
I did buy most of my fake flowers and leaves from the dollar store, as well as my sparkly and ceramic pumpkins.
This year, I made these copper dripped pumpkins which I set on a fancy tray to add a little glam to my mantel.

I changed out my DIY wooden home sign for fall by adding a foam leaf over the ‘O.’ I carved it out of a white Styrofoam plant disc and painted it with acrylic paint and glitter glue.
It was easy to glam my simple dollar store leaf vine with dollar store clip on pumpkins that I sprayed with this copper spray paint.
I also hung the simple DIY wreath I made in a previous year to add a little more sparkle.
How to Decorate For Fall on A Budget
You really don’t have to spend a ton of money to have a beautifully styled mantel.
Look and see what you already have. Think about ways you can incorporate items from your kitchen (trays, vases, glasses, etc.) with fake flowers, pumpkins, leaves.
Make some fall decorations of your own.
Fall is one of the easiest seasons to decorate on a budget because of its earthy and rustic nature.
